Dear God,

I admit that I need You, but it's hard to find the words to say so let this be my prayer today...

When my hands long to hold and my arms feel plain empty, could You hear my silent cry, dear Father? When I see others with child, mothers and fathers who smile, could You help to give me joy for their laughter? When I walk into a room that will not be used by the one whose occupancy it awaited and when I look at mere things that will never be touched by the one I anticipated, could you fill the rooms of this barren place with some sort of meaning for today? This state, full of despondency, craves for Your entirety, Your grace in full measure indeed…

 Could You store all my tears in beautiful boxes and wrap up my sorrows in blankets of love? Would You warm me with hope, Your comfort and assurance, from this injury, lift me, to rise above? I feel. like a baby, just as helpless and limp. I am aching inside and am rivet with hurt. Still I feel so despaired that I push back the givers so as not to receive consolation from others. Our bond is so broken God and how I need this to mend. I need to be Your child and start over again…

In grief, take me through like only You can do to embrace death and pain and still embrace life too… Not to fill my life with busy means or endless deeds, but to go on trusting, to go on loving and know that You are faithfully meeting my needs.
