In
January 2005, God began to open doors for us to expand Glory Babies
to a national level. We were hearing from more and more people
who wanted to create a similar group, but had no idea where or how
to start.
The
Glory Babies Facilitators Guide was birthed as a means to equip
those who feel led to begin their own group. It shares the
vision of the organization, how to start a group, lead a group
and suggestions for growing a group. It includes the
appropriate questionnaires for those who want to lead and
participate, descriptions and responsibilities of steering committee
positions, ground rules for group meetings, suggested scripture
references and other general information related to the group.
What are the benefits of associating
with Glory Babies?
The biggest thing is that you don't have to reinvent the wheel.
The groundwork has already been laid and the information is
available to start and lead a group. For example, each group
has the opportunity to build their own section of the Children Are a
Gift website, which will assist with increasing awareness within
their community. Brochures and monthly newsletters are also
available to assist you with reaching out to families who have
experienced a loss.
There is also assistance available through the national office. Our
goal is to help you be successful in starting, leading and
growing your own Glory Babies Support Group. Online support is
always available with suggestions and answers to questions and
concerns.
What are the requirements for
starting a group?
The most important requirement is that you have a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that He is our only
true source of healing. Our goal is to keep Jesus at the
center of all we do as an organization. Because of that,
we require that each group be associated with a bible teaching
church. We also require that you have a passion for reaching people
who have experienced a loss. If you have walked this journey
yourself, it is an opportunity to bring purpose and meaning to the
life of your baby.
We recommend a minimum of three people begin a group, to help share
the responsibilities. We also require that it be at least 12
months, since you experienced a loss, before you begin the process
of starting a group.
How Do I start a
Group?
The first step is to
purchase the Glory Babies Starter Kit. The cost
is $150.00 and it
includes a Group
Leader Questionnaire , a Glory Babies
Facilitator's Guide (with
all the information necessary to start, lead and grow a
group), 100
business cards, 50
note cards with
envelopes and a voucher for 150 brochures. Once
the
Group Leader Questionnaire has been received by
the Children Are a Gift Foundation and the brochure voucher
has been received with your local contact information, you
will receive the brochures, access to our monthly
newsletter (template)
and access to
a section of our website, specific for your group.
Continued support through Children Are a Gift is always
available.
How Much Does it
cost to start a Group?
There is an initial $150.00
cost for the Glory Babies Starter Kit. An annual
renewal fee of $100.00 will be required, on
the anniversary date of the group starting, each year
thereafter. The projected cost for the first year is approximately
$300.00.
Other expenses include printing and mailing a monthly
newsletter, additional brochures and cards, craft supplies,
and a separate Glory Babies phone number to use on all your
contact information. Suggestions
on how to raise money to cover these fees are included in
the Glory Babies Facilitators Guide.
